Yakona
Yakona – which means "rising water" in the Tonkawan language – explores the San Marcos river as it flows through Texas, from Spring Lake towards the ocean. But more than flowing through geography the river that is the subject of the film also flows through time, and directors Paul Collins and Anlo Sepulveda imagine the history of the river, contrasting the past and modern relationships to the water. Simultaneously, the film looks under the surface, at the eco systems that exists in the clear waters.
