For the third episode covering the films of the Australian New Wave era, we look at Bruce Beresford’s 1981 classic Puberty Blues. Starring Nell Schofeild and Jad Capelja as life-long friends Debbie and Sue, this is a film about growing up in the seventies. Full of great examples of ocker dialogue – you’ll be calling everyone a mole after watching this film – Puberty Blues is a wonderful example of the types of films made during the new wave era.
