92 – The Shape of Water, The Post, Darkest Hour, Wind River, Raw, Collateral Beauty

As Oscar season is now here, we decide to take a look at a handful of films that have gained Oscar nominations, as well as a handful that really hoped they were Oscar nominated. We start with Guillermo del Toro’s beautiful tale of love with the strangest beings in The Shape of Water. Steven Spielberg gets topical with #RealNews in The Post. Gary Oldman slaps on the latex and make up and wobbles those chins in Joe Wright’s Darkest Hour. Taylor Sheridan makes an explosive directorial debut with his essential Wind River (be mindful, this review has spoilers). The French flick Raw gets looked at under a microscope. While, finally, we wrap up with one of the ‘worst’ films of 2017… Collateral Beauty. There’s spoilers in that discussion too, but really, you need to know what’s going on with that madness.

Andrew has been a film lover all of his life. For a while now he's been talking about how great films are and usually that's been directly to his wife, Bernadette. Now with AB Film Review everyone else in the world can listen to what Andrew has to say to his wife. Bernadette grew up renting videos from a Plains Video. She mostly hired out Cry Baby and wore the tape thin learning the lines to the John Waters classic. After a series of arguments in the car ride home with her husband, Andrew, the two decided to record their arguments and launch them into the world for everyone to listen to.
